Fabrication for Creators

Your world

Notes

Notes and research beside your project — kept in step with a folder on your Mac.

Notes in the top bar opens a floating panel over whichever view you're in. Move it by its title bar and resize it from its corner; it remembers where it was.

  • At the top is every note and file in the project: search them, make a + Note, Add files… from your Mac, or Show folder in Finder.
  • Open as many as you like: they stack one under another, so you can read and edit several together. Pictures, PDFs, text, audio and video show right there; anything else opens in its own app.
  • Drag files onto the panel to add them.
  • ↗ on an open note gives it a window of its own; ↙ in that window puts it back.

The Notes folder

Each project has a Your Project Notes folder beside its file. Every note is an RTF file there, and every other file is itself. The folder and the app are kept in step both ways: edit a note in TextEdit or Word, or drop a file into the folder in Finder, and it shows up in Fabrication. Delete something in either place and it's gone from both.
