Your account
When you create an account we keep your name, your email, what you told us you write (if you did), and whether you'd like news beyond the beta. Your password is never stored — only a salted, slow hash of it, which can't be turned back into the password.
We also note when you agreed to the Terms of Service, when you were last here, which versions you've downloaded and for which kind of Mac, and the feedback you send, with any reply. That's how we know who's testing what, and how we follow up.
How we use it
To run the beta: to let you download Fabrication, to answer your feedback, and to email you about the beta — new versions, and questions about something you reported. We'll only email you about anything else if you asked us to. We don't share or sell any data on our users.
Cookies
One: it keeps you signed in, for up to 30 days. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and nothing on this site is loaded from anyone else.
Your writing
Fabrication keeps your projects on your Mac. Nothing you write is sent to us. If you connect an image service of your own (such as OpenRouter) and use it, what it needs goes to that service, under its terms: your description of the picture — or, when you ask it to work out how someone looks from your manuscript, the passages that describe them.
Updates
The app checks downloads.fabrication.live for new versions, which — like any website — sees your computer's address when it does.
Where we store data
On Cloudflare, which hosts this site and its database.
Leaving
You can delete your account at any time from your account page. It deletes everything above, permanently. Upon request, we will provide a record of any data you have stored with us.
